"It started out as an earthquake. It was happenin' near Archer Heights while I was cruising in my... you thought I was going to name some flashy convertible only the starlets drive. Perhaps if I won the lottery and send some green love to my stomach tumored step-dad, and have some left over. No, I was cruising behind a desk doing the usual financial spiel; real life changing stuff. Before long, the earthquake was felt over at our building.

We hid under our desks. The entire office panicked as the aftershocks knocked over not only computers, but the ceiling collapsed, too. But that wasn't the worst part. When the power got cut off, things got seriously quiet. Even the outside stopped honking horns; an ominous feeling took over the office.

They said you can hear the slightest pindrop when everything around you stops making noise. Much to my disbelief, that pindrop appeared deadlier than a Bridgeport Tamale. We've heard news stories that Sunnydale, California was the center of everything insane in the mythical membrane; never thought it would reach us. Then, there was that supernatural warrior nonsense in Vancouver, the suicides in Dallas, and Wolfram and Hart on the verge of collapse in L.A. What I saw that night near my cubicle felt like something out of a horror flick.

Then... it happened. Now, I'm a gym goin' gal. Ask anyone, anyone alive anyway, Chicago doesn't tolerate wusses. Next thing I knew, I was on some snarling bastard for ten seconds until the lights came back on. My god... it really WAS true. Vampires turning to ash with a dying scream as their final goodbyes.

I caught a glimpse of my first kill. He was dust and I was a holding a sharp piece of metal from my chair. Believe me, I wasn't that strong to pull it off. I prefer my undead to be on screen, not staring me in the face. I didn't understand the sudden surge of energy flowing through my body, nor this thrill to look for more vamps to dust. Nowadays, ha, I love it."
